Meet the Principals

 Jonathan Clark, Principal

Jon Clark is the principal at Riverside Elementary School. Prior to come to Riverside he was the principal at Garfield Elementary School in Brainerd and Kimball Elementary in Kimball, MN. His teaching experience comes from the Sauk Rapids School District where he was a special education teacher, fifth grade teacher, and special education lead teacher. He earned is BA degree in elementary education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, his Masters degree in special education from Saint Cloud State University, and 6th year licensure in K-12 administration / superintendent from St. Mary’s University.

Mr. Clark sees the importance of building positive relationships with students and parents in order to provide the best school experience possible. Each and every day is a new day filled with new adventures. A chance for us to learn, to explore, to make mistakes, and to try again.

During his free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends and teaching as an adjunct professor with St. Mary’s University. He is very proud that Riverside Elementary School Patriots are proud “Warriors in the Making”.

Tammy Stellmach, Assistant Principal

Tammy Stellmach has served in public education for over 28 years: 15 of those years as a teacher, coach (volleyball, basketball, track, and fast pitch), and student advisor (student council, mentor programs, and service programs); 11 of those years as a middle school assistant principal; and 2 years as an elementary assistant principal at Riverside Elementary School. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota; Masters & 6th year degrees in Educational Administration from St. Cloud State University; and currently is seeking a doctoral degree in Education Administration and Leadership from St.Cloud State University. Tammy teaches as an adjunct for St. Mary’s University.

Tammy graduated from the same rural public high school as her grandmother - just 52 years later! Her grandmother served as a one-room school teacher and then as a parochial school teacher, and Mrs. Stellmach always knew she would follow her grandmother’s footsteps and become a teacher. Tammy has three children: Two are BHS graduates and one is a junior at BHS. Her husband is a mechanical engineer.

Tammy’s interests outside of school are hiking, exercising and nutrition, photography, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. Tammy believes in communicating “YOU MATTER” to students, parents, and staff. She has a passion for social emotional learning and promotes character education throughout the school environment.
